County launches Eligible Renewable Energy Development (eRED) Program.

In July 2014, the County initiated a two-year eRED Planning Program funded by a grant from the California Energy Commission.  The purpose of the eRED Program is to coordinate and encourage eligible renewable energy resource development within the County at the General Plan level.  Accordingly, the project will be processed via a General Plan Amendment with a target date of January 2016 for adoption.  It will also include custom mapping which will be made available online to allow the public, potential developers and investors to readily access data on the County's wide variety of renewable energy resources and potential.  A project webpage is under development and will be linked from this homepage once it is available.
