1.0     CONSENT CALENDAR

1.1

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT 39540 - Riverside County Fire Department - First, Second, Third and Fifth Supervisorial Districts. Environmental Assessment No. 39540 is the proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration and Environmental Assessment for the Year 2004 Riverside County Weed Abatement Program. REQUEST: Proposes to completely remove vegetation, which may constitute a fire hazard by disking, mowing, or hand removal on properties less than five acres in size. For properties over five acres in size, vegetation must be removed in one hundred (100) foot wide strips of land along the boundaries of the property, with no portion of property larger than two and one-half acres (2.5 acres) not enclosed by itself within such a strip in the interior of the property. Weed removal around improvements is also required under County ordinance. In the Cabazon area of Riverside County, the Fire Department requires the use of flail mowers rather than disking. REQUEST: Proposes to collocate 12 panel antennas to an existing cellular telecommunications tower thereby increasing the existing tower's height from 81'0" to 90'0" above the ground surface, and a 20'0"x 12'0" equipment shelter located within the existing lease area.
